LASER 

HOW DOES THE LASER TREATMENT WORK :

- An hour before you come, you need to apply dilating eyedrops (Cyclopentol or Cyclogyl), that your ophthalmologist has prescribed (drop into the eye every fifteen minutes). 
- You will get extra dilating drops, when you arrive.
- They will put you on a machine .
- A lens is placed on your eye to enlarge the retina. You won't feel this because your eyes are anesthetized with drops !
- With bright light, small fire dots are placed on the retina to switch off the diseased  areas. This is painless. Per session there are between 100 and 700 laserdots placed.
 
    AFTER:

You can feel some pain. You can take a painkiller (preferably without aspririn because this can provoke bleedings in your eye):   Perdolan mono 500 mg   tablets . You can get this, with prescription, in your farmacie. When you experienced a lot of pain during the laser treatmen you can take a painkiller 1/2H before your next lasertreatment. It could be that, in the weeks after the laser treatments, you see some bright spots and swarms (“streams of running water”) .This is normal!  It will go away spontaneously after a few weeks of months.
 
  PURPOSE OF THE LASER:

The lasertreatment is used to keep the view stable, so no further deterioration occurs due to diabets. In some cases the view will get better, tis is never certain!!  Sometimes the sight gets worse the first weeks after laser before the stabilisation occurs !
 
  PRICE:

+- 181. 4 €/ session for the first treatment/eye. Afterwards 113.4 €/session. The mutuality repays almost everything.
          
We perform the laser treatment like the YouTube movie shows. A complete laser treatment can be obtained in 4 sessions.
The fim doesn't show that we first apply a lens with a mirror on the eye. You can see this in the foto gallery.
