EYELIDS THAT ARE TURNING INWARDS
"entropion"
WHAT IS ENTROPION?

Entropion is an inwardly turned edge of the lower eyelid. This allows the eyelashes to rub against the cornea and can causes corneal damage. Sometimes the entropion is not continuously present, but only when you're sqeezing the eyelids the lower eyelid rolls inwards.

In some cases there are few complaints, in these cases the entropion doesn't have to be corrected. Usually there are symptoms such as pain, irritation, redness, light sensitivity and a feeling of sand. In these cases, it is recommended to correct the deviation, due to the scratchy hair the cornea may be permanently damaged.

What happens during the operation?

The eye is anesthetized and prepared for surgery.
A horizontal incision is made under the eyelid.
In the outside corner the eyelid is cut off.
A piece of the eyelid is removed, what makes the lid tighter.

The lower eyelid is again attached to the outer corner.
Special sutures are placed deep in the eyelid, therefore the eyelid will turn out again.
The skin is sutured.

We fulfill the following operation as the English-language film shows on YouTube. We take away some extra skin to expose the lower eyelid is pulled out more.
